Cetera is a multi-genre magazine that believes fiction can be one of the best forms of surprise. Every Thursday, we deliver original short stories that challenge, comfort, and hopefully astonish. What we publish
Our stories span multiple genres while maintaining a commitment to literary excellence. You'll find speculative fiction that bends reality, horror that creeps under your skin, sci-fi that expands your universe, fantasy that reimagines the familiar, and weird fiction that defies all categories.
Each story comes complete with original artwork and detailed author's or editor's notes that pull back the curtain on the inspiration and process.
Our “philosophy”
We believe in the irreplaceable value of human creativity. Every story we publish is written and edited entirely by human authors, without AI assistance of any kind. Each piece is crafted with care, intention, and the understanding that the best stories trust their readers' intelligence and aren't afraid to take risks.

Worlds Without Warning podcast
Worlds Without Warning is a weekly podcast where we present our latest stories in audio form. Our goal is to add an extra dimension to the Cetera experience while maintaining the same commitment to quality and surprise. The podcast is available on all major platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.
Masthead
Natalia Emmons is the Managing Editor of Cetera Magazine and one of its cofounders. She mainly writes short fiction, poetry, and extremely long text messages about the perils of run on sentences.
Jon Negroni is the Chief Editor of Cetera Magazine and one of its cofounders. He's a Puerto Rican author based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He’s published two books, as well as short stories for IHRAM Press, The Fairy Tale Magazine, and more.
Bridget Serdock is an Illustrator and Editor for Cetera Magazine. They're also a producer of Fantasy Writing For Barbarians. "I am nothing if not kinda heartwarming in an aggressive way."
